Drop Forging is the process of heating and hammering steel to the shape desired. This allows the steel’s grain structure to be consistent and conform to the shape of the forged item. Cast and malleable wire rope clips may fracture under heavy use due to the steel’s random grain structure created during manufacturing.

Drop Forged Wire Rope Clip Features:

2. Comprised of a Malleable Iron base, “U” bolt, and two hex nuts.

What is Wire Rope Clips?

Wire Rope Clips may also be referred to as Wire Rope Clamps, Cable Clamps, Wire Clamps, Wire Clips, U-Bolts or other local terms. These typically all refer to the same group of products.Wire Rope Clips are used to form a load bearing eye at the end of a wire rope/cable and to connect two cables together using a lap splice.

How does wire rope clips works?

1) Loop Formation:

The wire rope is bent to form a loop, and the loose (dead) end is positioned parallel to the standing (load-bearing) part.

The wire rope clip is installed over both parts of the rope.

2) Proper Placement:

The saddle is placed on the live (load-bearing) side of the rope.

The U-bolt is positioned over the dead end of the rope.

This configuration ensures that the live side of the rope isn't damaged or flattened by the U-bolt.

3) Clamping:

The nuts on the U-bolt are tightened to clamp the rope between the U-bolt and the saddle.

Multiple clips are often used to ensure a secure hold, especially for high-load applications. The number and spacing of clips depend on the rope's diameter.

4) Load Testing:

After installation, the assembly should be load-tested to ensure the clips are tight and the rope is secure.
